13/12/2007 - 10:22
Stora Enso Timber is expanding its window and door component business through new production lines at Ala Sawmill in Sweden and at Honkalahti Sawmill in Finland. The new lines will manufacture ready products for the building and joinery industries and add variety to Stora Enso Timber’s product range. With the Uimaharju component mill start-up in early 2008 and the expansion of the existing joinery components business in Ala and Honkalahti, Stora Enso Timber will strengthen its position as the leading joinery component supplier to Baltic Sea region joinery industries. The investments in Ala and Honkalahti will create some 25 new jobs in Finland and Sweden.
The investment in Ala is estimated to be completed during the third quarter of 2008. Honkalahti investment is estimated to be completed during the first half of 2009. The investment volume totals EUR 7.8 million.
