UPM and Anaika Engineering have signed a co-operation agreement on the production and marketing of lamwood beams. Anaika Engineering will manufacture the products and UPM will be responsible for raw material supply and product marketing. The main markets for the products are in Europe and Japan.
The annual capacity of the plant will be more than 50,000 m³ of finished wood products. The plant, which will be built on the Aittaluoto industrial site in Pori, western Finland, will start operating in 2006 and will employ approximately 40 people.
