BrikettierpresseWEIMA Maschinenbau GmbH shows a new briquetting press at the Holz Handwerk 2010 fair: the E80 briquetting press, with which it is possible do the first time for small companies to also produce rectangular shape briquettes and without high investment costs.

The newly developed E80 briquetting press has been designed to suit requirements of smaller wood processing companies, so that a briquetting solution is now also available to them that meets their cost requirements and the lower volumes processed. Rectangular briquettes significantly simplify the entire handling process as well as storage. The high briquette density furthermore guarantees ideal burning behaviour. The briquette dimension of 80 x 40 mm is also a novelty in the market.

The throughput performance of the machine is approx. 40 kg/h, whereby it is also ideally sited for small quantities that typically arise in smaller companies. In principle, different types of wood with residual moisture content of less than 18 percent can be briquetted. The material is fed via a round storage hopper of 800 mm diameter. The conical shape of the hopper, which opens at the bottom, prevents the material from bridging. Entrance of contaminating material into the pre-compressor channel is avoided on account of the special shape of the hopper base. The machine possesses a hydraulic unit that is driven in an extremely high energy efficient way by a 4 kW motor. The hydraulic system is equipped with a separate hydraulic oil tank with a pump motor and valve control. Mounted on a stabile frame, the briquetting press has overall weight of approx. 530 kg.
